About the Data

The data for the database has multiple sources. Data for each site was primarily collected by surveying property managers and developers at each site. We also conducted on-site interviews through our data collectors and an on-site middle of the night parking count (12:00 am - 5:00 am) which is considered peak residential parking time. GIS data was provided by TransForm, MTC, ABAG and CNT. For further information about the data, including a glossary of terms and specific sources, go to TransForm’s GreenTRIP Parking Database webpage.

The research that provided the basis for this publication was supported by funding under an award to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
